The new TX17R tactical rechargeable flashlight from Coast has some useful features for users, including their slide focus system. This lets you adjust the beam profile from a wide spread out floodlight, or to a narrower tighter beam which has a longer range.
At the top output of 1250 lumens, the Coast can reach a distance of up to 234 metres. With 2 additional lower output power levels available.
Dual power options for this model, which is powered via the Coast rechargeable system, using the ZX850 Li-ion battery, or you can use the single use CR123 Li-ion cells adding additional convenience.
The TX17R is rated to IP54 for weather resistance, and is dust proof. Using a high quality machined aluminum body with a strong removable 2 position clip, it’s built to last and comes with Coast’s reassuring limited lifetime warranty.
It’s a pocket friendly size, with a length of 14.2cm (5.6”) and a weight of 153g (5.4oz).
Slide focus beam with a range of up to 234m
Coast are using their patented Slide Focus system, which lets you adjust the beam angle single handedly, with their push/pull mechanism. To prevent accidental movement, you can simply twist the head to the left to lock it in position, and turn it to the right to unlock it. A special TIR optical lens has been designed to create an even beam pattern at the widest floodlight or using the more focussed spotlight.
Three power levels are available, from a high of 12350 lumens, a medium or 500 lumens and a lower output 100 lumens.Power is via a ZX850 Zithion Li-ion 18650 rechargeable battery, with a capacity of 2600mAh and also has it’s own built in type C charging port.
Or you can charge the battery inside the flashlight with the concealed type C port, simply rotate the head to reveal the charge port, and when finished you can lock it down securely to prevent water/dirt entering. A charge level indicator lets you see the cell status of when it’s charging and completed.
Alternatively you can also use the CR123 cells (x 2 not supplied) as a back up or secondary power source.
Single Switch UI for ease of use
By using a recessed since switch you can quickly operate the flashlight, and cycle through the 3 power levels.
The body design also incorporates some fine knurling for superior grip even if the body is damp or wet, and has anti roll flat edges around the head.
Coast are known for their use of quality materials, and this model features the same premium machine aluminum body, with the IP54 weather resistance to ensure stable operation even during heavy rain or storm conditions.
