Aimed more at trail running, but also very suitable as a general purpose or working flashlight. This new model from Fenix is upgraded in many areas compared to the previous version, including a higher output and enhanced two way sport headband system.
Fenix are making it available in 3 colors. Black, Nebula, and Dark Purple.
A cool white LED has 3 power levels with a top rating of 1600 lumens, and warm white 4 levels 800 lumens maximum, down to a low 5 lumens in Eco mode. SOS flashing function is also present.
Power is via a rechargeable 18650 battery, rated to 3400mAh with a run time of 300 hours on Eco (warm white 10 lumens output). It’s also compatible with 2 x CR123A cells. Type C charging port it built into the headlamp. (charge time around 3 hours).
One of the key features on this Fenix is the new headband, it’s not only perforated for improved comfort, it has a built in emergency whistle, quick release system, with reflective markings, and rotary quick adjuster for rapid comfortable fitting.
Body is made from magnesium alloy, strong yet light it’s ideal for use in this headlamp. Fenix have tested it to IP68 (2 metres submersion up to 4 hours), and drop tested to 2 metres.
Size of the Fenix is 80mm x 47mm x 39mm (including mount), with a weight of 65.9g (no battery/headband), combined weigh is still very modest at 145g (headband and battery included).
Dual Beam Cool, Warm White with a range of up to 170 metres
Two beams give you a choice of output, with the cool white (6500K) offering more range and power, and the warm white higher CRI output (3000K) gives more spread and more natural colors.
Cool white has 3 levels, 130lm, 400lm, and the top output of 1600 lumens. Warm white is rated to 4 levels, 800 lm, 400lm, 130lm and a super low Eco mode of 5 lumens. SOS is also included for emergency use and signalling.
UI and operation are simplified, thanks to the wider dual switches which are on the top of the headlamp and within easy reach. A lock-out function is also here so you can store and transport the unit without risk of accidental activation.
