Known for their high quality headlamps, well respected among hikers and climbers, the new Distance 1500 brings a higher level offering to the market. It’s also helmet compatible, and features a new optical lens design for improved beam performance at shorter and longer distances.
The main LED has an output of 1500 lumens in Turbo, it is able to light up a large area for a limited time. 3 additional power levels are available right down to a lower 15 lumens mode, with run times up to an impressive 40 hours. SOS and Strobe modes can also be used.
RGB (Red/Green/Blue) auxiliary LEDs are also integrated into the main headlamps.A red flashing LED on the back aids in visibility and safety.A slim profile but with 3 controls on the main body, a “Powertap” function to cycle between time/temperature modes.
Magnetic removable battery pack lets you quickly change the power source and is charged via USB C. And can charge from flat to full in 1 hour 45 minutes. A multi stage power indicator is on the pack for a reliable battery level reading.
A quality adjustable and removable headband, with removable top strap and a secure cradle mount, the Distance 1500 is made from durable materials, and is rated to IP67 for water submersion.

Powerful 1500 lumens beam with RGB Auxiliary LEDs
With a big output of 1500 lumens the Distance 1500 has a lot of power in Turbo, but there are also 3 other levels for the main white LED. An 800 lumen mode with a range of 95 metres, a 300 lumen output in medium, and a low 15 lumen mode for use at close quarters.
Thermal management ensures smooth and safe operation even at the higher levels.Red/Green/Blue LEDs are also present, with SOS and Strobe/Flashing modes.
The removable magnetic battery is charged via USB C and also features multi level indicators for charging and a level check.
Quick operation with built in controls
Blackdiamond have kept the operation on the Distance 1500 as easy to pick up as possible. Two switches on the top, are different sizes with texturing. It also have a lock-out function to prevent accidental operation.
On the side a touch sensitive control lets you use the “Powertap” function, this lets users program how the headlamp responds, in time mode it will drop down after 10 seconds to the previous set level or mode. If it’s set to temperature mode the headlamp will give priority to maintaining brightness/output, but it also maintains a safe operating temperature.
