This new pocket size EDC model from Jetbeam has a minimalist body design, with a clean look which is also practical and attractive.
It’s powered via a 14500 battery with a built in type C port, and can last as long as 75 hours on the Eco setting. It can also be used with AA batteries (1.5v Ni-MH or Alkaline) for an output up to 220 lumens.
The highest output of 700 lumens is plenty of power for such a compact flashlight, and can reach up to 150 metres in range.
Users have a choice of stepped and step-less dimming giving you complete control over the output levels.
The body of the 1IBS is made from durable aircraft grade aluminum alloy, which is drop tested to 1.5 metres, and IPX8 waterproof.
An ideal small size for a pocket carry, the Mark 1IBS is a mere 95mm x 20mm x 19mm (length, head, body diameter), and just 37g without a battery.
Up to 700 lumens output, with a choice of Stepped or Step-less power levels
Using a Cree XPL LED the Jetbeam is able to put out up to 700 lumens in the high mode, and reach 150 metres in range, thanks to the well designed reflector giving a very useful beam output.
In the stepped mode you have 3 levels, the low of 2 lumens, a medium of 100lm with the high of 700 lumens.
In addition to this there are multiple strobe modes, the standard strobe, an SOS, a beacon, and a special one for bicycle users.
Step-less gives you output control from 1% up to 100% output, so you can pick the exact level you want.
Dual power is possible with the supplied 14500 rechargeable Li-ion battery, with it’s built in type C port, or using normal AA cells which can be either single use or rechargeable. This common cell type means you can easily get hold of additional batteries if needed. Or charge the 14500 one without the need for a charger, just using the type C port.
Easy operation with single tail cap switch
Using the Jetbeam is a very simple affair, with a full click for On/Off, and half pressing 3 times switches between the step-less and stepped modes.
As expect it also features a mode memory and a factory reset option.Grooves around the tail cap allow you to attach the supplied lanyard for a secure carry.
This model also features a built in power level indicator in 4 stages, with the main LED flashing out 1-4 times giving you feedback on the capacity left in the cell.
Rugged build is essential for any flashlight, and Jetbeam don’t disappoint here. The body features and anti roll design, IPX8 water resistance for up to 2 metres submersion, and a HAIII military grade anodizing finish which resists marks and damage. They are also using a toughened ultra clear mineral glass with anti reflective coatings to protect the LED and reflector.
This small, but versatile flashlight is a perfect EDC carry for multiple uses including camping, law enforcement, hunting etc.
