With a new design and ergonomic body, the Stinger 2020 S is a welcome new model from Streamlight. Aimed at users who are on the go and always need a ready to use flashlight, the Stinger has multiple charging options including the standard charger and piggyback one.
Highest level is 2000 lumens, with 3 levels in total and a strobe mode for self defense.With run times around 24 hours for the lowest mode of 100 lumens.
Uses a single 2020 S Protected Li-ion battery pack which is rechargeable, and has a high capacity of 5200mAh.
The ergonomics are designed for comfort and stability, and features an anti roll design, with knurling on the body for extra grip using the flashlight in dry or wet conditions.
Premium grade aluminum alloy body is anodised for hardness and long term durability. It’s been tested to 2 metres drop distance, IPX7 water and dust resistant. A new corrosion proof Borofloat lens is made from glass and protects the LED.
Size is 19.53cm length with a weight of 346g, it’s a good middle size point making the flashlight a useful working light or for outdoor activities.
3 Power levels with Strobe, 315 metres beam distance, and Piggyback charging option
Top level of 2000 lumens can reach up to 315 metres beam distance, with 2 hours run time at this setting. Mid is 850 lumens, with a low of 100 lumens. Strobe is also present and can be used for up to 3.25 hours with a single charge.
A unique offering with charging, the standard smart charging simply push the flashlight into the jaws, with LED indicators (Green/Red) and around 6 hours charging time. The Piggyback charger is able to charge the flashlight and a spare battery, this ensures that you always have enough power with a fully charged light and spare to take with you. For this reason the Piggyback option is perfect for law enforcement, shift work, security etc where longer run times might be needed for night duty.
UI is very easy to work out, a single switch for On/Off, and a toggle switch for mode selection. The advantage with this is you can set the switch to the power level you want, and it will always be on that mode when you turn it on.
The flashlight is backed with a limited lifetime warranty.
