Nitecore EDC33 Super Compact 4000 Lumens flashlight

Nitecore EDC33 Super Compact 4000 Lumens flashlight

Another exciting model from Nitecore, using their latest Uhi Max LED, this offers the unique 9 core LED (1 larger with 8 smaller ones) with the ability to use both floodlight, and spotlight modes.

The top output of 4000 lumens is available using the Lumin Shield floodlight mode, even with this it’s capable of reaching 400 metres, the spotlight can hit up to 54.500cd and reach 450 metres. With a lowest level of 5 lumens (ultralow) and extended run times up to 63 hours in this mode.

Power is via a new built in higher capacity 4000mAh 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery, with the latest generation offering improved larger capacity. USB C charging is built into the flashlight, with a rotary protection cover that prevents dirt entering the port.

A built in optical proximity sensor protects objects that are close to the front of the flashlight, by dropping the power level to reduce power output and provide safe operation.

Nitecore are using premium quality aluminum alloy 7075-T6, with a hard HA III anodised finish to resist marks and damage. It has been tested to IP68 weather resistance, and can survive 2 metres water submersion, with a drop test of 2 metre.

This is a very compact flashlight: 115.6mm x 24mm x 25.4mm (length x body x head diameter) with a weight of 127g (with battery and clip).

Longer range 450 metres beam, with 6 modes and dual stage tail cap switch

The UHi 20 MAX LED is becoming a sensation in the industry with it’s 9 core output, one main core for the highest output, with 8 smaller LEDs surrounding it. This gives increased illumination at the edges and sides, difficult to achieve with a normal LED.

It also allows for specific lighting profiles such as floodlight and spotlight, 6 in total for this model with outputs from 4000 lumens (floodlight), 1700 lumens (spotlight/search mode), high of 1200 lumens, with a mid and low of 300 and 70 lumens output. For a super low output we have a 5 lumens level, perfect for up close activities.

A 4 stage power level is built into the flashlight (just above the tail cap), clearly showing the remaining power left. A clever locking switch prevents accidental activation and can be visually seen.

Dual stage switch is both simple and easy to remember, with full press for On/Off, half presses cycles the modes. The EDC33 also comes with a durable stainless steel clip and 550 paracord with clip for attaching to a bag or other item.
