A very capable new headlamp from Nitecore, the HC70 UHE features the latest Nitelab LEDs and a high capacity battery, making it an ideal choice for those looking for both power and longer run times.
Using the 6 core UHE optical matrix system, it gives an impressive beam output compared to a traditional LED headlamp. With 5 levels for the main white LED ranging from 8 lumens up to 1600 lumens, it can reach up to 156 metres in range. And features SOS and Beacon modes for emergency use, and an Axillary Red LED output with 2 power levels and a slow flashing mode.
Power is via a new generation of 21700 battery, this time with a higher capacity of 6000mAh, and capable of running the headlamp for a staggering 220 hours on the ultra low level of 8 lumens. USB C is built in, with rapid charging times of 3 hours 20 minutes from flat to full.
Quality wide headband is supplied with reflective markings, silicone backing strip for comfort and to help grip if used on a safety helmet, it’s perforated for ventilation, and the have included a top strap that can be attached for extra comfort and stability. 180 degree angle adjustment on the headlamp is possible.
Solid build quality with a mix of HA III hardened aluminum alloy and polycarbonate materials, ti’s been tested to 1.5 metres drop distance, and IP68 rated for dust and water resistance.
Size of the HC70 is 84mm x 45.2mm x 50.5mm, with a weight of 172g (with battery and headband).
6 Core Nitelab LEDs with White and Red outputs
By using a series of optical lenses designed for a wider beam, but also capable of reaching reasonable distances, the matrix system uses the 6 core Nitelab LEDs to maximum effect. With a 1 x Dual core UHE LEDs and 4 x single ones, the light output is spread across a larger size, compared to a normal LED output with a single concentrated LED. This gives improved output, performance and run times, with a greater then 94% transmission ratio, and a 100 degree beam angle making it ideal for camping, working or exploration activities.
Dual buttons are a different shape and size, making it easy to feel each one, operation is very simple for all users. A lock-out mode is also present for safe transportation or you can angle the head upwards which prevents the switches being activated by accident. Nitecore have included a hard case too.
It’s easy to see how much power is left or how long charging will take, thanks to a 4 stage built in Blue LED indicators.
