A clever design on this new model from Nitecore, the LR70 Lantern has dual outputs for a combined flashlight and lantern. Giving users the best of both outputs and making it an ideal companion for camping or an emergency light source.
The main body houses the lantern which has 360 degree diffused coverage for a wide even light source, and up to 400 lumens in power, with 2 lower power levels. This also have a Red output in low, SOS or beacon for emergency use.
Flashlight mode features dual LEDs for a big output of 3000 lumens in Turbo mode, with 4 lower levels including a power saving low mode of 1 lumen. It can reach up to 300 metres range in the highest level, impressive for it’s compact size.
It’s powered via a built in high capacity rechargeable Li-ion battery. This uses 2 x 21700 batteries for extended run times. Up to 600 hours in Low (1 lumen) for the flashlight mode, and 200 hours in the 5 low (5 lumen) setting for the lantern.
Charging is via the built in Type C port, this two way port not only charges the light, but also features a built in power bank function, so you can charge phones and other devices on the go. Quick charge and Power deliver are also supported. The high capacity of 10,000mAh gives excellent endurance.
A built in hook on the body for conveniently hanging the light up.It’s made from strong aluminum alloy (base) and polycarbonate (main white top part) and drop tested to 1 metre.

3000 lumens flashlight mode, 400 lumens lantern mode with power bank function
Nitecore are using 2 x Luminus SST40 LEDs for the main flashlight mode, with a peak beam intensity of 23,100cd. The LR70 lantern has beam spread of 70cd for a wide even illumination, and hsing 20 x High CRI LED’s (CRI>90) for improved color reproduction, and a warmer tint at 4000K.
A wide range of power levels in the main flashlight mode, with 5 settings from 1, 35, 300, 1000, and 3000 Lumens. With 3 main levels on the Lantern 5, 55, 400 lumens and 3 special modes in Red(low/SOS/Beacon).
UI is simple with 2 switches on the body for quick and direct control over each of the outputs. Anti slip body design for a secure and firm hold on the unit.
The Type C charging port has a wide range of supported voltages including support for quick charge/power delivery, from 5V, up to 9 or 12 Volts. It can be charged quickly and provide fast charging for other devices too.
A 3 stage power level is available with a quick press on either button, gives a blue flashlight light reading, letting users know how much is left in the battery.
