Niteize Launches RH1 & RH2 Rechargeable dual power 600 & 700 lumens compact headlamps

These two headlamps from Niteize have similar features, but there are a a couple of differences to note with them.

Both the RH1 and RH2 are dual powered headlamps with a removable/replaceable Li-ion battery pack with a built in micro USB port. They can also be powered by 3 x AAA batteries (Alkaline or Ni-MH cells not supplied). Giving them both a useful back up or secondary power source, ideal for extended trips away.

The main differences between these two models: (RH1 is slightly cheaper in price).

The RH1 headlamp has a maximum output of 600 lumens at the highest level, and the RH2 is rated to 700 lumens. (both using the Li-ion battery pack). When powered via AAA cells, the RH1 is 550 lumens, with the RH2 headlamp reaching 590 lumens.

The RH2 headlamp features an additional “Red flashing” mode, where as the RH1 headlamp has a static Red mode only.

Red is useful for preventing eye fatigue and helping to preserve night vision. The flashing mode can be used in an emergency, or if travelling on a road by foot, alerting traffic to your presence.

5 Power levels with Red (RL1 and RL2) and Flashing Red mode (RL2)

Both have 5 power levels including a Spot mode for increased range (2 levels for this mode), and a Flood (with 2 levels on this). Having a spot and wide gives you more control over the light output, with the option for a more spread out beam, or a more focussed one for better range. RH2 can reach 77 metres distance with the RH1 95 metres.

The Li-ion battery pack can be removed and charged via the micro USB port, charging times are around 3.5 hours (with charge indicator light red/green). Simple to replace when needed, just remove it to fit AAA batteries.

Angle is around 90 degree for accurate light placement, with a high quality adjustable headband which has reflective strips for enhanced safety/visibility.

A textured twin button UI makes it easy to find, and gives simple control over the headlamps.

Tough body construction for outdoor use in all conditions, these models feature a drop test rating of 2 metres, IPX7 weather resistance for dust/water protection, up to 1 metre water submersion, with a lightweight body of just 75g (RH2) or 82g (RH1).
