This latest rail mounted tactical weapon light from Olight, features 2 power levels with a top output of 1500 lumens (High 1), or a 1000 lumen setting (High 2), and a 300 lumen level (Low mode). This helps tailor the beam output to various needs, with the highest mode offering a range of 205 metres, with the lower level being ideal for closer encounters.
Dual switches allow the light to be operated from left or right hand side positions.The PL-3R also comes with with GL and PIC rail adapters, allowing it to be used on more weapons, and is compatible with longer and shorter firearms.
A built in rechargeable battery has a capacity of 900mAh, which uses the Olight magnetic charging system, there are no port covers to damage and it can be quickly charged via USB with this secure connection.

Pick the top power level output, with a low mode and strobe/momentary
Users have a choice of which power level to use for the highest output. 1500 lumens of 1000 lumens. The 1500lm setting can reach as far as 205 metres, but you can use the 1000 lumen output instead, this helps preserve battery life and still has a high brightness.
The low mode is set to 300 lumens, making it ideal for up close use, where a very high level would be too powerful. Run time is up to 100 minutes for the low mode (300lm), which is impressive for a compact weapon light.
In addition to these modes, the user also has a momentary mode and a strobe function (13Hz at 1500 or 1000 lumens) which can be used for self defence. Of course a memory is also present.
Multiple adapters are included, the 1913 adapter and screw (picatinny), GL rail adapter (Glock). The sliding block can also be adjusted to improve compatibility, and it features a screw locking mechanism for a secure fit, once locked off then it will stay in place firmly even with weapon recoil.
Dual rear buttons for rapid operation
The large well placed buttons allow users to use the weapon light from both the left and right hand side (both buttons perform the same functions), this is important for quick operation of the PL-3R.
It’s a simple and effective UI which gives you rapid access to the main power levels, momentary and the strobe function. A lock-out function is also here, which will prevent accidental operation, and also useful if transporting the light.
Olight’s magnetic charging system is also present, it is possible to charge the built in battery quickly at up to 1 amp charging speed. The built in LED indicator shows when charging (red) and when it has finished (green).
It’s important to have a strong and durable body, and Olight have made the PL-3R from tough aluminum alloy, which is weather proof to IPX6, and can be used in even demanding conditions.
