The second model of weapon light from Streamlight, retains a fairly compact form factor, but provides even more powerful beam output and enhanced range and run times, thanks to the two battery compartments.
It can run off the USB-C rechargeable SL-B9 battery pack (2) or via 2 CR123A (16340) Li-ion cells. Each battery pack SL-B9 has a built in LED for charging indication, and can be charged in around 2.5 hours from flat to full. CR123A cells are easy to find (and higher capacity non rechargeable).
The weapon light design has an easy to access the batteries concept, by using a front “flip down” mechanism, it’s faster and simpler to replace the batteries quickly.
Multiple weapons are supported from many makers including Smith and Wesson, Glock etc. And these mounts can be swapped out if desired (see makers compatibility charts for more details on this).
Dual rear switches allow the use of the light from left or right handed positions, and these paddle switches can be swapped out, with the option of high and low variations which gives increased flexibility depends on the weapon it’s fitted to.
They are using high grade heat treated anodised aluminum alloy for the main body with chemical resistant polymer for the main switches. Heat and drop resistance, and designed to withstand shocks from weapon recoil. IPX7 water and dust tested (1 metre for 30 minutes).
At only 87.6mm length, and a weight of just 147g (with the main SL-B9 power pack), it’s still light and small, but with plenty of power.

With the 2 x SL-B9 battery packs, you can output an impressive 1500 lumens (or 1000 lumens with the CR123A cells), with the higher candela of 20,000 an excellent range of 283 metres is possible, whilst providing a clear sight the Boroflot glass gives maximum transmission and it’s durable protection for the LED too.
Rapid operation requires an effective UI for the end user, with the dual switches on either side, and ability to change them over for lower or higher versions, this provides the best experience and compatibility with various weapons.
The light can also be one attached one handed, and has a snap on mechanism giving a secure fit.
