Another addition to the Thrunite weapon light range, this time featuring a larger capacity 18650 battery which is ideally suited for larger weapons, and can offer extended run times for over 120 minutes. Far longer than many of the smaller models out there.
Available in Cool or Neutral white LED emitters, the cool version has an increased output, with the neutral white giving more accurate colors and a warmer overall tint.
Sporting an attractive, yet practical “desert tan” color, the Ratel also has a powerful beam which is rated to 1635 lumens, and can reach into the darkness as far as 316 metres.
Standard mounting via the picatinny rail system (MIL-STD-1913), using a secure screw/clamp system for attachment. it also has an integrated remote in the tail cap for rapid tactical operation.
A type C port gives rapid charging and has a dust/dirt cover to protect it from the elements.
It features Thrunite’s premium type III hard anodized aluminum alloy body, for superior wear resistance, and it is rated to IPX8 for 2 metres water submersion. The Ratel is also drop tested to 1.5 metres and is well designed to handle the shocks of weapon recoil too.

Powerful 1635 lumens beam with a long range of 316 metres
Having a high power light is useful for not only distance, but also giving a useful spread. Thrunite are making the most of the 1635 lumens output with a specially designed smooth reflector which can reach up to 316 metres distance, with a candela of 25000, giving a notable hot spot – yet also able to spread out at closer distances too.
UI is also very simple with two modes of operation, a momentary (activated with a push/hold on the pressure switch, simply release when finished), or a stay on normal mode, with a single quick press for On and Off.
Thrunite also include a spare port cover and spare O rings, with a type C charging cable included too. A charge indicator is on the side of the light near the head, so you can quickly see when it’s charging or completed.
Quality build is important and with the AL 6061-T6 aluminum body it’s tough and well protected against the elements, with a hardened glass cover which resists marks and cracks, it has additional anti reflective coatings to improve light transmission, and reduce reflections.
This affordable weapon light is going to appeal to many users for it’s simple interface and long run times and range, yet it can also be used as a normal flashlight unmounted too, and reaching over 300 metres can be useful for many activities.
