A small yet very useful headlamp from Fenix, the HM23 V2.0 has some excellent functionality and features for users. It has upgraded performance compared to the first version, including a higher power output, longer range and a red light output.
Dual power with 14500 Li-ion or a normal 1.5AA and up to 100 hours run time.
There are 3 levels for the main white LED output and 2 for the Red, with a static and flashing mode. Red flashing is useful for safety or in an emergency. At the top level of 300 lumens you can reach up to 88 metres into the distance.
A premium adjustable headband is included, with perforations, and anti reflective markings. A newly upgraded mount is made from durable plastic (150 degree angle adjustment) and is more secure compared to silicone offerings.
Rated to IP68 water resistance (submersion), with 2 meters drop test. Made from aluminum alloy with hard anodising to resist marks and damage, it’s a durable strong body, yet light enough to be worm for extended time periods, or you can use it as a flashlight, and it features a body clip and magnetic base making it even more useful.
The HM23 V2.0 is 73.6mm x 36mm x 30mm, with a weight of 86.3g (with the battery and headband).
Dual power sources 14500 and AA with White and Red light outputs
Ability to use the common 1.5AA battery is an obvious advantage, very easy to find and you can use disposable or rechargeable versions. In addition you can also use the 14500 Li-ion cells too giving you two sources of power for the headlamp.
Fenix are using a Luminus SST20 LED with 3 power levels 300 lumens, 50 lumens and a low mode of just 3 lumens which is perfect for discreet viewing at close distances. There are two Red 2835 LEDs for the auxillary light (static and flashing mode available).
A large well defined switch is easy to find by touch even with gloves on, and with a simple UI operation is straightforward for users to pick up. A lock-out is also present to prevent accidental activation.
It’s cold and heat resistant (- 35 degrees Celsius, up to 45 degrees Celsius).
