Cyansky Release HS7R Dual Beam High Performance 2800 lumens headlamp

Cyansky Release HS7R Dual Beam High Performance 2800 lumens headlamp

A new model from Cyansky, the HS7R headlamp has some interesting and useful features for users.

Using the main LED, the beam is designed for longer distances with the top 2800 lumens being able to reach as far as 186 metres. Two smaller LEDs provide the floodlight beam pattern, with a highest output level of 2000 lumens, the beam distance is 91 metres. The spotlight LED is a cooler tint, with the floodlight being a lower warmer one.

Quality build is important, and this model features a wider than usual headband, giving excellent comfort and fit.

A removable stainless steel bracket secures the headlamp, and allows for secure angle adjustment. With a magnetic base/tail cap lets you secure it to metal objects, making is a handy working light too.

Large capacity 5000mAh 21700 rechargeable battery, with a type C charging port, this cell can power the headlamp for as long as (140 hours at low floodlight setting).

It also features a built in sensor, to adjust the power output when it detects objects at close range, a useful safety feature.

With a weather resistance rating of IP68 and drop tested to 2 metres, using a tough anodized aluminum body, it’s a strong sturdy headlamp designed to last for many years use.

Size is 103mm x 26mm x 32mm, with a weigh of 213g (with battery/bracket/strap) or 142g with the headlamp and battery.

4 Power Levels for each mode: Spotlight & Floodlight, with Cool/Warm emitters

Cyansky are using two different LEDs; For the spotlight a single Luminus SFT70 which is rated to a highest output of 2800 lumens, using a cooler white emitter (6500K). Dual Osram P9’s provide the wider flood beam, with a Turbo level of 2000 lumens, and a warmer tint (4000K).

A wide range of power levels for each beam profile, with the spotlight spacing 50/200/800/2800 lumens, and the floodlight 15/100/500/2000 lumens. Enough to pick a required output that suits the task at hand. Spotlight has an angle of 20°, with floodlight 90° .

The light sensor can also adjust down the output if it detects an item or object at close range. This feature is also useful to prevent heat damage if being transported.

A special plating on the glass with the main LED helps improve light transmission, and it has also been treated to enhance it’s toughness and resist damage.

By using two beam profiles you have a very versatile headlamp which will work for many applications, at longer distances or closer up.

Twin buttons for quick operation

The top button controls the main spotlight beam, this larger silicone covered switch is easy to find with gloves on. A smaller metal button on the side is for the floodlight. By using two buttons/switches, this means you will always have direct control for each beam pattern.

A newly designed switch has excellent endurance and has been tested to a staggering 100,000 presses!

The body is made using A6061-T6 Aluminum alloy, it’s a heat treated mix of metals resisting corrosion and damage. Being fully metal on the body helps to reduce heat and improve thermal performance. An anti slip design and magnetic base are also present.

Charing the high capacity 21700 battery is via the build in type C port. This supports fast charging, and it able to recharge the battery fully in just 2 hours.

The HS7R also has a build in battery status indicator integrated into the larger switch, showing Green or Red, static or flashing. This system is in 4 stages so you will clearly be able to see how much power is left in the cell.

Cyansky have tested the headlamp to IP68 water and dust protection, which can last for up to 2 metres submersion, and it has been drop tested to 2 metres.

This is a tough well made headlamp with long endurance and twin beam profiles, which make this model a strong choice for general purpose or work use.
