Introducing Wurkkos DL16 2000lm Diving Flashlight

A new affordable diving light; the DL16 from Wurkkos has a useful 2000lm output, and is rated for use at up to 100 metres depth. The beam is powerful enough to reach up to 347 metres.

Two lower modes are also available and an emergency SOS one.Powered via a high capacity 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery, the body is both durable and ergonomic with a clearly visible battery level LED ring near the tail switch.

A long lasting durable finish is made possible with the Aero grade 6061-T6 heat treated aluminum body, it resists marks and damage and has been impact tested to 1 metre.

Water resistance is up to 100 metres submersion with it’s IP68 rating.Size of 129.4mm (length) x 35mm (head), weight is 103g (without the battery).

2000 lumens output with a mixed beam which can reach 347 metres

Diving flashlights require not only a powerful beam to penetrate darkness at depth, but also a beam which can light up areas closer to the diver. The DL16 achieves using the well respected Luminus SST40 LED (rated to 5300-5700 Kelvin) this with a spot angle of 11° and a beam angle of 73°.

With range of 347 metres in high mode, you can also select a moderate power level of 800 lumens and a lower output of 300 lumens. SOS Is also present too for emergency signalling (300 lumens).

Power is supplied by a rechargeable quality 18650 Li-ion cell, this battery is rated to 3000mAh capacity and is charged via the supplied single cell charger.

Colour temperature is also important for diving, and for this reason the Wurkkos is similar in output to daylight, this helps provide a comfortable and good quality beam for use in water.

Despite being designed for Diving, the DL16 can also be used effectively on land/dry condition, as the beam profile is ideally suited for many activities including general use and search/rescue/hiking etc.

Single Switch UI with large battery level indicator

Operating the DL16 is very intuitive thanks to the large quality tail switch, this has a very positive tactile feel making is suitable for use even if wearing gloves.

Being able to see how much power is left could be very important for a diver, so Wurkkos have included a high visibility LED ring around the switch, which clearly shows even in murky water how the battery level is, changing from green to red when the battery level is low, and flashing red when it is critical and needs to be changed.

Strong build on the body is thanks to the anodized aluminum material, it is heat treated type III specification is better able to withstand daily use and damage. A toughened mineral glass lens is here too, making a robust overall finish to this model.

Wurkkos have certified this to 100 metres water resistance (i.a.w) and IP68, and rop tested to 1 metre, with double O rings helping seal the head compartment against water/moisture and dirt.

This is a useful and affordable flashlight which could find many uses in or out of the water, particularly those who want a model which has a good range and beam profile.
