Joining the popular range of flashlights from Fenix, the LD36R had some exciting features including built in RGB lighting effects, and stepless transitions across the color spectrum. 2 Colors are avaiable black, and flame camo an attractive and lively design.

There are 5 power levels from the headline 3600 Lumens in Turbo, down to the Eco mode of 30 lumens, a strobe mode, 6 color lights, breating and stepless color modes.

The supplied high capacity 21700 battery is rated to 6000mAh, a built in type C port on the flashlight lets you charge the cell, and with a run time of over 65 hours (Eco mode 30lm), endurance isn’t a concern here.

A supplied AOD-4 diffuser is in the pack, this attaches to the top of the flashlight and gives a lantern like 360 degree output for a softer light. Ideal for camping trips or emergency lighting/back up. Stainless steel clip is provided too, and the base of the flashlight features a standard ¼” tripod thread.

Thanks to the premium build of the Fenix it’s using high grade HA III hardened aluminum alloy, with a coated/hardened lens cover. Rated to IP68 water resistance and drop tested to 1.5 metres.

It’s not a large flaslight either, easily pocketable at only 139.6mm x 40mm x 26.5mm, with a weight of 231g (with battery).

Longer range 385 metres beam, with stepless color modes and toggle switch

Thanks to the higher candela beam profile (37,100cd Turbo mode), the Fenix can throw up to 385 metres range, and still provide good peripheral illumination at any of the 5 power levels. Strobe is also rated to 3600 lumens.

The light also comes with multiple color modes, 6 presets/colors are included (green/purple/pink/orange/blue/red), and it has stepless color control for smooth and seamless transitions between colors. Various flashlight and breathing modes are here too, and can be useful for light effects or for entertainment.

A unique design switch on the side switch is a toggle type with 3 positions for normal lighting and color modes, with  a central off position which also acts as a physical lock out.
