The new HS45 offers something quite unusual for a headlamp, a built in fan to cool the LED, it's able to sustain a high output of 1500 lumens for up to 2 hours.
Power levels range from 3200. hundred lumens on the Turbo mode down to 15 lumens on the Eco mode, a total of 5 levels.
Power is provided by a 21700 Li-ion battery, offering extended run times up to 210 hours in the Eco mode. Charging is via a built in USB-C port, and the headlamp features charge and battery level indicators. Thanks to LEDS under the main power switch.
Body is made from high quality aluminium alloy material with anodising for additional durability, Sofirn have rated it to IPX6. water and dust resistance. With a drop test pass of 1.5 metres.
It comes with a good quality adjustable headband which has a fast release mechanism, and adjustment of 180 degrees a magnetic base, and removable stainless steel clip. It's an adaptable headlamp which can be used in multiple situations, particularly useful for camping or work environments.
It's still relatively compact at 124.7mm x-29.3mm x 29mm, and a weight of 172g.
Active fan cooling system for extended run times at high power levels
The 5 power levels offer versatility and flexibility, for both up close. and longer distance with a top range of 223 metres, a notable improvement on many headlamp offerings.
However the key feature is the built in fan which offers active cooling on the headlamp. Typically a headlamp or flashlight would drop power level relatively quickly within a minute or 2. The HS45 is able to output 1500 lumens for around 2 hours without dropping the power level. A huge advantage for those who need higher sustained output.
A single switch offers ease of use, and also has the facility to lock out the headlamp for safe transportation.
