In addition to the white LEDs, the D36VR includes four Red CREE XP-E N3 LEDs with a wavelength of 620 nm and a maximum output of 400 lumens. These red LEDs are particularly useful for night diving and close-up photography, as they minimize disturbance to marine life. The light also features two Purple LEDs with a wavelength of 410 nm and a maximum output of 6W, as well as two UV LEDs with a wavelength of 365 nm and a maximum output of 6W. These additional color options provide specialized lighting for different underwater conditions, such as revealing fluorescent properties of marine organisms.

The D36VR offers multiple lighting modes controlled by two switches. Switch 1 cycles through Red, Purple, UV, and off, while Switch 2 controls the White light with high, medium, low, and off settings. This dual-switch system allows divers to easily adjust the lighting according to their needs, providing flexibility for various underwater scenarios.

The runtime for each mode is optimized for extended use. The Red light can run for up to 240 minutes, while both the Purple and UV lights have a runtime of 300 minutes each. The White light can operate for 90 minutes on high, 180 minutes on medium, and 240 minutes on low. This extended runtime ensures that divers have reliable illumination throughout their dive.

Constructed from durable aircraft-grade aluminum, the ARCHON D36VR is built to withstand the harsh conditions of underwater environments. The body is treated with premium type III hard-anodizing, providing excellent resistance to corrosion and physical wear. This ensures that the light remains functional and aesthetically pleasing even after prolonged exposure to saltwater. The 4mm polycarbonate lens is toughened to withstand impacts and pressure, ensuring clear light transmission and protecting the LEDs.

The D36VR features a no-hotspot design with a wide 110° beam angle, providing even and consistent light distribution. This wide coverage is perfect for capturing wide-angle shots and large underwater scenes, enhancing visibility and reducing the need for multiple light sources.

Powering the D36VR are four 18650 Li-ion batteries (not included). The flashlight includes advanced battery management features such as over-discharging protection and polarity reversing protection, ensuring safe and reliable operation. The light is also equipped with a gas release valve, which adds an extra layer of safety by preventing internal pressure build-up.

The operational voltage of the D36VR ranges from 4.2V to 2.8V, maintaining stable performance throughout the battery's discharge cycle. The light is waterproof up to 100 meters, making it suitable for a wide range of underwater activities, from recreational snorkeling to professional deep-sea exploration.

The dimensions and weight of the D36VR are optimized for ease of handling underwater. It measures 145mm in length, 62.5mm in diameter at the lamp head, and 50.2mm in diameter at the body. The light weighs approximately 483 grams without batteries and 660 grams with batteries in air, and about 320 grams underwater with batteries, ensuring minimal buoyancy and ease of handling.
