The Fenix ​​LR80R is a powerful searchlight capable of achieving an incredible 18,000 lumens of maximum output at Turbo with a range of 3707ft / 1139m and a maximum light intensity of 318,000 candelas. The body of the Fenix ​​LR80R is made of A6061-T6 aluminum alloy with an impeccable finish of the details. The head features large, thick dissipation fins that aid in dispersing the heat produced by the powerful LEDs when they are turned on at high power levels. The flashlight finish is a type III HA anodization that is very resistant to wear and scratches. In addition to the carrying handle that can be easily disassembled, the Fenix ​​LR80R essentially consists of two parts: the head and the battery pack. The head has 8 gold-plated button contacts with a smaller center pin. These connect with the circular contacts on the battery pack and ensure a circulation of the current with very low resistance. The Fenix ​​LR80R is equipped with 6 Luminus SST-70 LEDs. The Bezel is made of crenulated steel and is very robust. The lens is made of thick, ultra-clear mineral glass with anti-reflective treatment. Inside the reflector there are 2 proximity sensors that detect when an object is in front of the lens and automatically reduce the output to avoid possible damage. The reflector is designed as a 6-cup multi-dish and is of the SMO type.

The Fenix ​​LR80R is equipped with a constant current driver that provides the flashlight with a fully regulated output so the light does not decrease as the battery voltage decreases. This allows for constant output during long-term operation. The user interface is managed by means of the two switches present under the head: there is a switch "L" which is the auxiliary switch which controls the lower brightness modes and the switch "H" or main switch which controls the high mode outputs. There are two modes available: low output mode with Eco, Low, Medium, High, Strobe and SOS levels and high output mode with Low, Medium, High and Turbo levels. From flashlight off: click on one of the two switches to show the battery status via the colored status LEDs located above the switches. Long press on one of the two switches to access the last used mode. Long press on the “L” switch for more than three seconds to activate the Variable Strobe. Press again to switch to SOS. Press and hold both switches for 5 seconds to activate the electronic interface lock. With the flashlight on, single click on the switches to go to the next output level, hold down one of the two switches to turn off the light, hold down the "L" switch for more than 3 seconds to activate the Strobo, press again to switch to SOS. Memory mode is also available on the Fenix ​​LR80R for all levels except Strobe and SOS. The electronic blocking of the interface is done with the prolonged pressure of both switches for more than 5 seconds.

The power supply of the LR80R is guaranteed by a powerful battery pack consisting of 21700 cells with 8.4V and 12000mAh. Charging is done via the USB-C PD interface on the flashlight on the opposite side of the switch using the supplied charger
