The Lumintop AD01 is an EDC torch with a maximum power of 1200 lumens with the main feature of being able to be powered in different ways. In fact, it accepts different types of both rechargeable and primary cells as power supply: in particular, it is possible to power it with 1 X 18650 Li-ion/ 1 X D cell/ 3 X AA (excluded) through special adapter tubes. Its maximum power is 18W and it is equipped with a latest generation OSRAM KW CULPM1.TG LED. Its maximum power varies according to the type of cells that are used for power supply: When using a 18650 type cell its maximum light output is 1200 lumens, when using 3 AA alkaline batteries the turbo is of 780 lumens, when using 3 NIMH type batteries the turbo is 950 lumens while when a d type cell is used maximum brightness is 165 lumens. Obviously, the maximum distance reached and the maximum luminous intensity also vary: Using an 18,650 cell, the maximum range is 650 m, corresponding to 105,625 candles. When three AA-type alkaline batteries are used, the maximum distance reached is 510 m, equal to 65,000 candles. when three NIMH type batteries are used, the maximum distance that can be reached is 550 m with a maximum luminous intensity of 75,500 candles, while when one D-type cell is used, the maximum intensity is 13,250 candles for a maximum range of 230 m. The water resistance is given by the standard of ps 68 therefore the torch is submersible up to 2m depth while not being a mint diving torch and resistance to impact and given up to 1.5m in height. The dimensions are 42*39*116mm while the weight is ~210g (battery excluded). The LED it is equipped with has a useful life of 50,000 hours. The user interface features 5 different modes with the maximum output of 1200 lumens but special flashing output levels such as Strobe, SOS and Beacon are also available. Interface management is entrusted to a single switch on the side of the torch. The electronic lockout function is also available and since the threads are used it is also possible to mechanically lock the torch by slightly unscrewing the make-up. Equipped with a specially designed smooth optic lens, AD01 is an ideal choice for outdoor, hiking, camping, etc. lighting devices.
The body is made entirely of aircraft grade aluminum with a Type III hard anodized finish. There is abundant knurling on the body which helps in grip and guarantees an always perfect grip even when your hands are wet or if you use thick gloves. The contacts are gold plated and ensure perfect current flow from the battery to the LED power circuit. The tail is flat so it is possible to use the torch also in tailstanding or with the head facing upwards and with the tail resting on a flat surface like a candle.
