Die JETBeam E20R ist eine kleine, leichte und kompakte EDC-Taschenlampe mit extrem geringen Abmessungen. Ihre maximale Lichtleistung beträgt 990 Lumen. Das Gehäuse aus Flugzeugaluminium ist CNC-gefräst. Das extrem robuste Gehäuse der Taschenlampe ist mit einer Harteloxierung nach Militärstandard HA III versehen, die sie extrem robust, kratzfest, korrosionsbeständig und wetterfest macht. Die JETBeam E20R ist mit einer SST-40 N4 BC LED ausgestattet, deren Lichtausbeute über 160 Lumen pro Watt beträgt. Die Optik besteht aus beidseitig entspiegeltem Mineralglas und einem Aluminiumreflektor mit Orangenhautbeschichtung. Die Taschenlampe verfügt über einen effizienten Konstantstromkreis, der bei niedrigster Lichtleistung eine maximale Laufzeit von 100 Stunden ermöglicht. Die Bedienung erfolgt über den seitlichen Schalter an der Taschenlampe: Bei eingeschalteter Taschenlampe lässt sich die Lichtleistung mit einem einfachen Klick in der Reihenfolge Turbo, Hoch, Mittel und Niedrig umschalten. Mit einem Doppelklick lässt sich hingegen von der Turbo- auf die Stroboskop-Stufe umschalten. Die Leuchte kann mit einer einzelnen 16340-Zelle betrieben werden, alternativ ist aber auch die Verwendung einer CR123A-Zelle möglich. Laufzeit und Leistung variieren allerdings je nach verwendetem Zellentyp. Bei Verwendung einer 16340-Zelle sind folgende Stufen verfügbar: Ultraniedrig 0,7 Lumen, Niedrig 88 Lumen, Mittel 350 Lumen, Hoch 990 Lumen. Bei Verwendung eines CR123A-Zellentyps sind folgende Leistungsstufen verfügbar: Ultraniedrig ab 1,1 Lumen, Niedrig ab 72 Lumen, Mittel ab 220 Lumen und Hoch ab 520 Lumen. Die maximale Laufzeit beträgt bei Verwendung eines Zellentyps 16340 oder CR123A 100 Stunden auf der Stufe „Low“, während sie bei Verwendung einer CR123A-Zelle auf der Stufe „Turbo“ 1 Stunde und bei Verwendung einer 16340-Zelle auf der Stufe „Turbo“ 0,5 Stunden beträgt.

Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Schalters befindet sich die Micro-USB-Ladeschnittstelle, mit der Sie den internen Akku laden können, ohne ihn aus der Taschenlampe herausnehmen zu müssen. Die Ladeschnittstelle ist durch eine dicke Gummikappe geschützt, die das Eindringen von Schmutz und Wasser verhindert. Der Metallschalter enthält eine kleine Status-LED, die alle Informationen zum Ladefortschritt und zur verbleibenden Akkukapazität liefert.

Wenn die Zellspannung niedrig ist, blinkt die LED-Anzeige langsam grün, während die LED-Statusanzeige bei sehr niedriger Zellspannung sehr schnell grün blinkt.

Die Taschenlampe ist gemäß IPX-8-Standard wasserdicht, sodass sie bis zu einer Tiefe von 2 m tauchfähig ist, obwohl sie keine Tauchertaschenlampe ist, während die Stoßfestigkeit bis zu einer Höhe von 1 m gegeben ist.
