Das Nitecore Ci2 ist ein Doppelsteckplatz-Ladegerät mit klassischem USB Typ C. Es kann sowohl über QC als auch über PD mit Strom versorgt werden. Die zulässigen Eingangsspannungen sind: 5 V ⎓ 2 A / 9 V ⎓ 2 A / 12 V ⎓ 1,5 A 18 W (MAX), während die Ausgangsspannungen je nach geladener Zelle 4,2 V ± 1 % / 1,48 V ± 1 % betragen.

Mit der Nitecore Ci2 können dank zweier unabhängiger Kanäle zwei Akkus gleichzeitig geladen werden. Auf einem Steckplatz kann die Ci2 über 3000 mAh Ladestrom liefern.

Das Nitecore Ci2 ist intelligent und erkennt den eingelegten Akkutyp und wählt die optimalen Ladeoptionen dafür: Der Lademodus wird automatisch aus CC, CV und -dV/dT ausgewählt. Das Ladegerät erkennt außerdem, ob es sich bei der eingelegten Zelle um eine Zelle mit hoher Kapazität handelt und wählt dann den passenden Ladestrom dafür aus.

Der Nitecore Ci2 ist außerdem sehr sicher. Er verfügt über eine Polaritätsumkehrkontrolle und einen Schutz gegen Kurzschlüsse und Überentladung.
Aus schwer entflammbarem Material gefertigt, ist es sehr robust und seine Konstruktion gewährleistet stets eine maximale Ableitung der während der Ladephase entstehenden Wärme.
Es sind zwei Lademodi zulässig: Schnelllademodus: 3.000 mA * 1 MAX / 1.500 mA * 2 MAX und Standardmodus: 2.000 mA * 1 MAX / 1.000 mA * 2 MAX
Die Abmessungen betragen 148 mm x 65 mm x 37 mm (5,83 x 2,56 x 1,46 Zoll), während das Gewicht 120,4 g (4,25 oz) beträgt (Ladekabel nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten).

Darüber hinaus gibt es ein spezielles, für IMR-Zellen optimiertes Ladeprogramm: Der Ladevorgang dieser Zellen überwacht ständig den Zustand der Batterien und sorgt für eine Abschaltspannung, die stets an der Sicherheitsgrenze liegt. Dies erhöht die Lebensdauer der Batterien und macht den Ladevorgang extrem sicher.

Der Nitecore C12 verfügt außerdem über eine Reihe von Status-LEDs, die den Ladevorgang anzeigen: Leuchtet die rote LED, befindet sich der Akku im Schnelllademodus. Leuchten drei grüne LEDs, ist der Ladevorgang abgeschlossen. Leuchten nur zwei grüne LEDs, liegt der Ladestand noch bei 80 %, leuchtet nur eine grüne LED, liegt der Ladestand noch bei 30 %.

Eine weitere Funktion dieses Ladegeräts ist die Reaktivierung tiefentladener Batterien mit blockierter Schutzschaltung: Nach der Aktivierung prüft das Ladegerät, ob die Zelle beschädigt ist. Ist die Zelle beschädigt, blinken alle drei grünen Status-LEDs zusammen mit der roten.
Das nItecore Ci2 verfügt außerdem über eine Energiesparfunktion, die alle LED-Anzeigen ausschaltet, wenn keine Batterie eingelegt ist.
