Die Olight Baton 3 Pro Max ist eine EDC-Taschenlampe im 21700-Format und wird daher von einer 21700-Zelle mit einer Kapazität von 5000 mAh angetrieben, was ihr wirklich lange Laufzeiten ermöglicht. Obwohl diese Taschenlampe sehr klein und kompakt ist, ist sie auch sehr leistungsstark. Im Inneren gibt eine kleine Status-LED Auskunft über den Ladefortschritt und die Restkapazität der Zelle: Leuchtet sie grün, liegt die Zellenkapazität über 60 %, leuchtet sie orange, liegt die Zellenkapazität zwischen 10 und 60 %, leuchtet sie rot, liegt die Zellenkapazität unter 10 % und ist es daher an der Zeit, die Batterie zu wechseln oder aufzuladen.

Die Taschenlampe ist mit einem elektrisch blauen, zweifachen Gürtelclip ausgestattet, der die blaue Farbe der Lünette aufgreift. Der Clip hält hervorragend an der Kleidung: So lässt sich die Taschenlampe bequem an Gürteln, Rucksäcken, Mützen, Taschen, Kleidungsstücken usw. befestigen. Die Taschenlampe ist außerdem mit einem kleinen Näherungssensor ausgestattet, der die Helligkeit bei Erkennung eines Hindernisses reduziert und die Helligkeit automatisch wieder einstellt, sobald das Hindernis verschwunden ist. Dieser Näherungssensor erhöht die Sicherheit der Taschenlampe zusätzlich und verhindert mögliche Hitzeschäden, wenn die Taschenlampe beispielsweise im Rucksack getragen wird, ohne sie vorher elektronisch zu verriegeln. Die Olight Baton 3 Max ist in drei verschiedenen Ausführungen erhältlich: als Kaltlicht-, Warmlicht- und Neutrallicht-Version. Die Taschenlampe ist nach IPX8-Standard wasserdicht und hält 30 Minuten lang bis zu zwei Metern Wassertiefe stand. Der Akku wird über das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel aufgeladen, das gleichzeitig als Ladestation dient. Am USB-Ladekabel befindet sich eine Status-LED, die über den Ladefortschritt informiert: Sie leuchtet während der Ladephase rot und nach Abschluss des Ladevorgangs grün. Das Ladegerät ist vom Typ MCC3. Im Lieferumfang ist außerdem eine L-förmige Halterung enthalten, mit der die Taschenlampe jederzeit leicht zu finden ist: Sie besteht aus Edelstahl und kann mit einem starken Kleber an Oberflächen befestigt werden.
